FORT WORTH, Texas – (April 24, 2013) For the fourth consecutive year, Inspirus—a leading provider of workforce recognition solutions—is among the 100 distinguished companies included on the 2013 list of “Best Companies to Work for in Texas” featured in the print and online April issues of Texas Monthly. Companies are selected based on data collected during a state-wide survey that is a joint initiative of Texas Monthly, the Texas Association of Business, the Texas State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management and Best Companies Group.
Now in its eighth year, the two-part survey takes into consideration the eight core focus areas that create a Best Place to Work: leadership and planning; corporate culture and communications; role satisfaction; work environment; relationship with supervisor; training and development; pay and benefits; and overall engagement. Employee responses account for 75 percent of each company’s overall score.
“As a company dedicated to helping our customers create best places to work, it’s really gratifying to know our people truly feel appreciated and valued for all that they do” says Pete Chambers, chairman and chief executive officer of Inspirus.
Inspirus recently demonstrated just how highly it regards its family of over 100 employees with Team-de-monium—a 24-hour competition that empowered its staff to put their ideas into action by designing innovative business solutions for problems they encounter in their everyday work. Twelve teams competed for cash prizes and paid time off. “Being able to work without parameters, have the freedom to partner with whoever we wanted and be able to think of any idea was so cool,” says Suzanne Pelt, a member of the winning team, Double Trouble.
Pelt’s teammate, Cheryl Grubbs agrees. “A lot of companies will say ‘Drop your ideas in a suggestion box,’ but nothing happens,” says Grubbs. “This is real. It’s going to happen. IT is already working on it. In all of my years working, this is the most collaborative effort I’ve ever seen at any company,” Grubbs echoes.
So many good ideas were presented—16 in all—that Inspirus leaders decided to give every participant a cash bonus. “Team-de-monium reminded me of the beauty of collaboration, and the reality that the path to excellence is within the organization, not driven from the top,” Chambers says. “I could not be more proud of our company, and I greatly admire our people.”
